The Tremont House, A Wyndham Historic Hotel

Overview
Architecturally detailed and impeccably furnished, The Tremont House reflects a Victorian-inspired ambience and classic hospitality. In the striking, four-story atrium, touches such as intricate ironwork balconies and bridges, birdcage elevators, and wicker chairs accentuate the sunny space. Named after two preceding hotels that met with untimely demises, the Tremont House reflects an ageless elegance that merges modern amenities and conveniences with classic hospitality.
The 119-room hotel, including 17 suites, is conveniently located within a few minutes walk of scores of shops, galleries, restaurants and historic attractions that invite exploration. Just a few blocks away guests will find The Grand 1894 Opera House, a Galveston stronghold that survived the threatening storms of 1900 and 1915. For those wanting to venture to the beachfront without taking their car, guests can hop aboard the Galveston Island Rail Trolley for a ride down 19th century streets to Galveston’s Seawall.
The original 1839 Tremont House burned down in 1865, and the 1872 version was razed in 1928.
